Global Trends in Climate Tech Startups Event on August 30, 2024

At PEP, we hosted an event titled "Global Trends in Climate Tech Startups" on August 30, 2024, to share insights and discuss the latest global trends in climate tech. This event was held following the Breakthrough Energy Summit held in London in June 2024. We were honored to have Olivia Oo, Head of APAC at Breakthrough Energy, join us.

The event began with a presentation by Umada, PEP Director, who shared recent trends in climate tech and provided some key takeaways from the Breakthrough Energy Summit 2024.. Following this, Ms. Oo provided an overview of Breakthrough Energy's programs aimed at developing and scaling the critical solutions needed to reach net-zero emissions. The panel discussions featured reflections from several companies that participated in the Summit as well as discussion about their climate tech focus and future initiatives.

The networking sessions before and after the event were highly engaging. We believe there is a significant surge of enthusiasm for future climate tech and decarbonization efforts in Japan.
